QUICK NOTES… There are plethora of martial arts schools in and around the Omaha metropolitan area. They range from spectacular to ‘not spectacular’, the best way to find a place that is right for you is to ask questions and create a plan. Outline what you are hoping to achieve from the training for you and/or your child before beginning your search. Fortunately, we live in an information age and it is relatively easy to find information on the arts, instructors, and schools that interest you.
Once you have figured out what you want, narrow it down to the two or three schools that seem to offer what you are most interested in learning. Your next step is to call and ask questions. Have your list ready and take notes. Ask about the focus of the school, how long they have been in business, and the teaching staff’s qualifications. Save pricing questions for after you have had the opportunity to explore the school in person. The majority of commercial schools will be within $20 to $30 a month of the others and it is ill-advised to choose a school on price alone. Most legitimate full-service schools will offer you a free trial period. This will give you an opportunity to see if what they have to offer is what you want.
