The Spirit of TaeKwon-Do

The Spirit of TaeKwon-Do

QUICK NOTES… It is easy to get lost in the hype of mass media and forget that martial arts are not just a bad movie or television show. For most arts it takes years of intense practice to master even a small fraction of what they have to teach. Black Belts are not minted in a 30 minute show, nor do students learn to fly, send out fire bolts, or control the elements.

Martial artists are just individuals who are dedicated to building their mind body and spirit. The best definition of a Black Belt is, “a dedicated individual who has spent thousands of hours in a training hall forging an unconquerable and focused spirit in order to understand the basics of the martial art they are studying. It is someone who never gives up, never quits, and understands that skills are forged through hard work and patience.” TaeKwon-Do calls this type of effort an indomitable spirit.
